Q: When and where do we meet?
A: This is different on each and every trip, your captain will advise you on when and where.
Q: How early should I arrive for my trip?
A: Ten or fifteen minutes before the scheduled time is perfect, by this time the captain and crew will have the bait and ice loaded and be ready to load your stuff.
Q: Should I tip the crew?
A: Deckhands on offshore trips work for strictly for tips, so a 15-20% is much appreciated. On inshore trips the captain plays the deckhand role as well, so they appreciate a 10-15% tip.
Q: What if the weather forecast looks bad?
A: The captain will keep in touch and communicate with everyone leading up to the trip; if it's not going to be fun there will be no trip. Hot Spots wants to be remembered for the fish they catch, not the beating you take.
Q: Should I bring a cooler?
A: We will have coolers and ice on board, but it's a good idea to have one in the car to take your fish home in. If you want to bring a small one on board that is no problem either.
Q: How many people can Hot Spots accommodate?
A: We can take as many as a 22 anglers offshore at once and just as many inshore, but they will be divided between boats on inshore trips.
